Behind the Program

The International Bioinnovation Scholarship Program aims to expand the pool of Danish talents with unique entrepreneurial skills, mindsets, and network. Through the program, students will learn how to turn scientific discoveries into valuable solutions. Further, it is the mission to strengthen the Danish connection to Silicon Valley by giving the scholars an international network they can utilize in their subsequent careers in the Danish bioinnovation ecosystem.

The program is run by Innovation Centre Denmark Silicon Valley and funded by the Novo Nordisk Foundation.

Novo Nordisk Foundation is an independent Danish foundation with corporate interests. The program is fully sponsored by the Novo Nordisk Foundation. The Foundation has two objectives:

  • To provide a stable basis for the commercial and research activities of the companies in the Novo Group (Novo Nordisk A/S and Novozymes A/S)

  • To support scientific, humanitarian, and social causes.

Innovation Centre Denmark, Silicon Valley (ICDK) is a collaboration between the Ministry of Higher Education and Science and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark. Our Silicon Valley office is one of seven Innovation Centres globally. ICDK builds bridges between Denmark and the U.S. to ensure a sustainable future - providing services to companies, research and educational institutions, public stakeholders, and Danish citizens and society.
